✿ Who Are You?

I'm Laura, a fashion and accessories designer based in Barcelona. I'm the founder of Angelic Ugly, a brand that ranges from experimental fashion pieces of playful, coquette-inspired accessories.

✿ How Did you get into it? What was your artistic upbringing prior to it?

During my final year of fashion school, I developed a thesis project focused on doll clothing. I called it Angelic Ugly, blending the adorable aesthetics of antique dolls with creepy, experimental design. After finishing the project, I felt so connected to the concept that i decided to turn in into a brand

✿ What are your pop culture references?

Sofia Coppola's films have had a huge impact on my work, especially in the way they explore girlhood and nostalgia. I'm also drawn to period dramas like Emma or Little Women, which sparked my love for colorful jacquards and vintage-inspired fashion.

That said, pop culture icons like Legally Blonde and Sex and the City are also big source of inspiration.

✿ Favorite Project So Far?

Recently, I created a custom dress for a local band called Tetas Frías to wear during their Primavera Sound performance. Designing a full medieval-inspired piece and having them trust my creative vision was such a confidence boost.

It went so well I ended up styling the whole band, and the show turned out amazing!
