Freelance IT & Graphic Designer

Location: Barcelona, Spain preference, but taking remote applications at the moment.

Job Description:

Position Overview: As the IT and Graphic Designer at Favorite Child Collective, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our e-commerce platform while also crafting visually appealing and brand-aligned graphics and design elements. This role requires a combination of IT skills and graphic design expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Responsibilities:

  1. Website Maintenance and Development:

    • Manage and maintain the company's e-commerce website, ensuring it is functioning optimally.

  2. Server and Database Management:

    • Oversee server infrastructure and database systems, ensuring security and scalability.
    • Conduct regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans.

  3. E-commerce Platform Integration:

    • Integrate and optimize third-party tools and extensions to enhance the e-commerce platform's functionality.
    • Ensure seamless payment processing and inventory management.

  4. Security and Data Protection:

    • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect customer data and sensitive information.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices for data security and compliance.

Graphic Design Responsibilities:

  1. Visual Design Creation:

    • Design visually compelling graphics, banners, product images, and promotional materials for the e-commerce website and marketing campaigns.
    • Ensure all design elements align with the brand's identity and style guidelines.
    • Create Packaging designs for our products according to our logo and color schemes as well as up and coming trends.

  2. User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design:

    • Enhance the website's layout, navigation, and overall user experience.
    • Create wireframes and prototypes to improve user engagement and conversion rates.

  3. Content Creation:

    • Generate engaging multimedia content, including videos and animations, to showcase products and promotions.
    • Optimize images and content for web and mobile platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT and web development, including e-commerce platforms (3+ years).
  • Proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and content management systems (e.g., Magento, Shopify).
  • Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-friendly web development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
